Santorini 1999

Trip organised with CTS and recommended because the quality/price ratio was extremely good. We set off from Rome on an Olympic - Blue Panorama flight, not bad at all. Arrival at Thira airport and we immediately have ourselves accompanied to the guesthouse where we stayed, room only, in complete tranquillity, right on the seafront of Kamari. Then we hired a scooter for the whole week, bought a map of the beaches and toured the whole island. Worth seeing are the beaches of Kamari and Perissa, where if I remember rightly we came across a few nudists, and then those in the northern area whose name I now can't remember. Worth visiting is the capital Thira, very characteristic, all white buildings, and in the evening it fills with colours and lights, with all those little restaurants that seem set into the rock, and its volcano that seems to protect it.

Also worth visiting is a very famous winery that produces some fine wines, Santo Wines. Not to be forgotten is the fabulous moussaka. Warm climate by day, breezy in the evening.
