Berlin 2010

Fantastic, wonderful, thrilling Berlin!!! Above all under a thick blanket of snow!!! We arrived by plane, an Easy Jet flight that landed at Schonefeld. A very punctual flight, without complications and very cheap. We arrived in the evening, calmly, and stayed at relatives' home. The next day we began our tour of the city through snow, ice and cold, very cold!!! Near-polar temperatures, record-breaking for Germany, made the stay difficult but no less unforgettable!!! Berlin already in my heart!! The legendary Brandenburg Gate, the Berliner Dom with its entrance fee, hard to accept for us Italians used to not paying to enter a church!!! The marvellous Parliament building. Its unforgettable squares, Alexander Platz, Potsdamer Platz, the evocative Checkpoint Charlie, the Rathaus under a snowstorm. The constant stops at kiosks to drink mulled wine to warm up.

Gedachtniskirche, the beautiful church bombed during World War II with the very modern new church next to it, which at night offer a wonderful spectacle. A fantastic city. Highly recommended!!!
