The story

There were 4 of us. All girls. Flight from Malpensa and arrival in Varadero. Transfer to the resort. A couple of days of sea and sun to work out how to get around. Then from the 3rd day onwards we toured by bus and private taxi along at least 200 km of coast, accompanied by two Cuban friends. Varadero is the classic very artificial seaside resort, like the surrounding lagoon. Still beautiful as far as the landscape goes. Havana, a big and chaotic city, lights up at night especially with a thousand colours and music on every corner. Worth visiting is the famous Casa de la musica, where people dance and play live. On the following days we toured by private taxi to Matanzas and Cardenas where we attended two fantastic Latin music concerts by a famous and very popular Cuban singer whose name I can't remember anymore.

Return to the resort by bus of a music company that offered to give us a lift for at least 80 km. Just enough time to grab our suitcases and, reluctantly, head to the airport for the return journey. Stunning landscapes, warm people and fantastic rum.
