Direct Air Italy Milan-Natal flight. The price in August is a bit high but truly perfect both for the time and for the luggage. Watch the weight, in Milan we paid the surcharge.
We know Natal Ponta Negra, we've had an apartment there for several years... in August the climate isn't at its best, but this year we were lucky, only a few passing storms. by day the temperature is close to 30 degrees but breezy and dry...in our winter, their summer, the temperature rises but the climate stays dry and pleasant...
in Natal they say there's one of the best climates in the world given the geographical position; the state of Rio Grande do Norte is in fact completely surrounded by ocean currents. (it's on the outer tip of Brazil)
in Ponta Negra there's a lovely and lively beach, then the evening venues are on a central street in Ponta Negra. if you feel like moving around a scooter is enough..
we did the southern beaches (Pium, Pirangi...) and the northern ones where there's the Genipabu natural dune park.
in Brazil you eat very well and spend little if you try the least touristy restaurants possible. number 1 for us is the new Camaroes... stunning place and shrimp in every form, then there are self-service places to eat churrasco meat (that is, cooked on skewers) and where you pay by weight regardless of what's on the plate (side streets of Praia Shopping)...but open only at lunchtime.
excellent fruit, especially papaya and mango..excellent caipirinha...Skoll beer...coconut water...and boiled green corn (milho verde)...
