my daughter Federica was studying in the USA and on the occasion of her graduation in journalism and communication, I take the chance to go to "America". Federica lived in Wayne and graduated from Rutgers University in Newark. Trying to describe NYC is like looking for a needle in a haystack. A unique city, full of charm, beauty and very strong contradictions. I had the chance to admire the many museums, in particular the MoMA and the natural history one. Central Park is a must-see, even if chaotic; the place where John Lennon was killed is one of the spots that struck me most. I "climbed" the Empire State Building, but I missed the Twin Towers and all the people who died there. Another interesting place is Ellis Island, where, by entering the first names of some of my ancestors who from 1899 reached America, I found so many people. Federica's graduation day was beautiful and moving.
As Nino Manfredi used to say, you just need to arm yourself with a good pair of shoes and Manhattan can be yours. To return to.
