The story

Years of waiting, repaid in every sense. Mauritius, a true paradise. When what you expect and have dreamed of your whole life becomes reality and you can touch and see it, a million sensations fill your heart and mind. That's what I felt arriving in Mauritius. An extraordinary island from every point of view. A wonderful sea, a splendid sun, lush nature, friendly and warm people, and if we then add ASSO everything becomes fantastic. At Asso, the ideal place to spend 10 relaxing days on this beautiful island in the spirit of familiarity, you breathe a family, friendly atmosphere, not to mention the food — like being at home. Extraordinary is the constant presence of its staff, who pamper you and take you to truly remarkable places.

The beach at Belle Mare is everything you imagine of a tropical spot: beach white as flour, turquoise sea, with a reef 20 metres from the shore, not very colourful but rich: the market of Flacq, very Indian, where you find very distinctive colours and smells. The Pamplemousses botanical gardens, with a series of trees and flowers stunning in colour and size. The south-east tour with the Vanilla zoological park, with crocodiles and the centuries-old, enormous tortoises, and then the Blue Bay marine park, very beautiful. The south-west tour is full of unusual attractions. Trou aux Cerfs, an extinct volcano in Curepipe, the sacred lake with Shiva. The Tamarin waterfalls, immersed in lush vegetation. Chamarel with its waterfalls and the seven-coloured earth. In short, a puzzle of extraordinary natural beauties that make Mauritius a splendid island.

We finished with the famous Mauritian dance, the sega, and an evening with lobster. I'll carry an indelible memory of everything that makes me remember Mauritius — nature, sea, sun, people and Asso with its excellent staff. Maybe, indeed certainly, I'll return.
