The story

For our trip to this well-known holiday destination we opt for an offer with the tour operator In Viaggi. Our hotel is in Santa Ponca. On arrival at Palma de Mallorca airport an unpleasant storm is waiting for us. Let's say the bad weather follows us for most of the week, but despite that we managed to do and see many of the beautiful things the island offers visitors. First of all we hire a car, so we can explore the island in complete freedom. We change 3 of them in the space of a day due to various breakdowns, but... in the end we found a reliable Ford Ka that stayed with us for our whole time in Mallorca. As our first stop we head to Porto Cristo, where we can enjoy a very good Paella and excellent Sangria! There we visit the splendid Caves of Drach. The following day we visit the well-known pearl factory and the glass one, both very fascinating.

Then we visit some of the most beautiful bays of Mallorca: Cala pì de la Posada, Cala Pi, Es Trenc with its Caribbean-like sea. We also go to Cap de Formentor, through one of the most beautiful roads I have ever driven. The road, all bends and sheer drops, runs along the whole west coast of Mallorca offering breathtaking views and spectacular stretches. I recommend stopping along the road at the viewpoint of Punta de la Nau. Porto d'Andratx and Illa Sa Dragonera are also beautiful. The town of Soller is lovely too. We spend our evenings among the colourful streets of Palma and its many bars. A week truly dedicated to the detailed discovery of an island that offers so much beyond fun and enchanting beaches.
