For this summer we chose Formentera, an island in the Balearics, in our beloved Mediterranean. To reach the island we set off from Malpensa on a charter flight bound for Ibiza. Once in Ibiza you have to go to the ferry terminal for the boats to Formentera: the crossing takes about 40 minutes, after which you land on the island. We stayed at the Formentera Playa resort, in the south of the island, all-inclusive, but we soon regretted it, since the beauty of the island is certainly not the resort's pool (which, by the way, is very very nice, no complaints..), but rather choosing a different beach every day and perhaps dining in the typical little restaurants. Of course (like everyone) we rented a scooter and toured the island far and wide: the beaches are very beautiful, the water crystal-clear and truly remarkable.
What to see in Formentera: - Playa de l'Arenals: a wide beach, fine sand and transparent sea - Cala Saona: a beautiful natural cove with fishermen's boats moored and very beautiful water - Faro de Barbaria and Faro de la Mola: the first ideal for watching sunsets, the second evocative, sheer above the sea - Playa de ses Illetes: a strip of land where the sea is always choppy on one side and very calm on the other - Calo des Morts: a small cove hard to reach (you have to climb down the rocks) but with fantastic water - Es Pujol: the island's main town, a pretty little village, nice little restaurants
