Barcelona and the sea

TRAVEL DIARY

Trip made by camper with my parents and my sister. Our movements during this holiday were limited by the fact that my sister had her ankle in plaster (for ligament reconstruction) and I was on crutches because I broke my knee 4 days before leaving.

Wednesday 29.07.98

Departure from Milan at 19.30, after getting back from work, heading for the Frejus tunnel. We travel until 22.00 then stop to sleep at the Esso service area in Oulx. (total: km 227)

Thursday 30.07.98

A day crossing France. Breakfast at 7.30 and departure. Crossing France without leaving the motorway. In Spain, exit at Girona north, and, passing through La Bisbal, reaching the Villarroma campsite in Palamos at 18.00. Evening walk going by the little train, return by taxi since both my sister and I are on crutches (total: km 970)

Friday 31.08.98

In the morning we leave the campsite (4,237 Pts), and along the scenic coastal road we reach Tossa. Shopping, then back to Plaja d'Aro via the inland road, much faster. Lunch stop at the supermarket in Plaja d'Aro near the harbour. In the afternoon at 13.00 arrival at Cala Gogo with a pitch assigned to us. (total: km 1,044)

Saturday 01.08.98 – Monday 24.08.98

Stay at Cala Gogo. We live the beach life. What's more, with friends we go on excursions by dinghy and by car to the nearby villages. We visit: Palamos, Tossa de Mar, Barcelona, Lloret de Mar.

Tuesday 25.08.98

Payment at the campsite and departure, stop at the shopping centre in Playa, fill-up at the Spanish border at La Jonquera and then Perpignan. We stay on the motorway the whole time. The description of the trip continues under the entry “France”
