The story

Porto Venere rises at the southern end of a peninsula, which forms the western shore of the Gulf of La Spezia. At the end of this peninsula there are three small islands: Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto; only the island of Palmaria, which rises right in front of the village of Porto Venere beyond a narrow stretch of sea, is partly inhabited. Today a non-competitive walk on the island of Palmaria is on the programme. By coach we reach Porto Venere, a motor vessel takes us to the island, right in front of Porto Venere. We choose the 7-kilometre route, it is not exactly flat. We find the first warm weekend.... We arrive at the port and take the motor vessel back to Porto Venere. Time available to visit the village, the church of San Pietro and admire the view towards the rocky coast.

In the evening, on the way back, a stop at the Fattoria al Poggio in Montecarlo (LU) and it is truly an experience to recommend.
