The story

We set off in the direction of Val di Non; the first stop is Castel Thun, a beautiful residence perfectly furnished amid greenery and surrounded by apple orchards. From here we proceed towards Sanzeno, from where a path starts that leads to the monastery of San Romedio. The walk begins, first under the sun, then among the apple trees, then continuing along an equipped path in the middle of the canyon, right beneath the rocks. A very intriguing and pleasant route, with a light breeze. We arrive at the foot of the monastery, under renovation; we visit what is possible to visit; up a staircase you reach the only chapel open to the public, with ex-votos everywhere along the sides. We reach the Aurora hotel, at Tret di Fondo. We go down to see the waterfall; the path is not well kept, there are still signs of the damage caused by the winter...you can hardly see anything of the waterfall.

The next day, before going to Lake Tovel, we head north to the Palade pass and then towards Fondo, to the Lago Smeraldo (Emerald Lake); we walk around the lake, crowded with trout fishermen, then we go into a small canyon, through an iron staircase and a short route among the rocks, the path then continues through the woods... and we come out near the car park. We take the road that will lead us to Lake Tovel, set like a jewel in the valley of the same name. A very quiet and picturesque area; before arriving at the car park, we pass through the rocky remains of a landslide, then the green and blue of the lake welcome us. Here too we do the whole loop and then rest a while at the Chalet Tovel, a beautiful chalet completely renovated recently On the way back, between Caldonazzo and Levico...

in the end we decide to stop at Lake Levico, a pleasant surprise; the shores equipped with beautiful beaches and public lawns are lovely; it starts to get really hot...we head up towards the village, look for a bit of coolness in an ice cream... and then off home: summer has arrived!
