It was a small, very fun holiday! We set off on Saturday morning without rushing and reached our first stop, Serravalle di Norcia, around 11.30. The village is nothing special but we are here for one reason: rafting! We booked online for one o'clock, so we have time to have lunch and rest. The website is this one: When the moment of the descent came I was a bit scared, but it turned out to be great fun! They gave us all the equipment (wetsuit, shoes, life jacket etc.) and, accompanied by two experts, we covered 7 kilometres of the Corno river! There are a few rapids and a small drop to do, but it isn't dangerous at all and the water is crystal clear. It took us about an hour and a half for the whole route, but we didn't stop to swim because it wasn't very warm. The cost is 36 euros per person, but in my opinion it's worth it!!
We headed towards Arquata del Tronto, though via the panoramic road that crosses the Castelluccio plain, which we really loved. The Bed & Breakfast where we stayed is in the hamlet of Trisungo, a truly tiny village. This is the website: From the outside it hadn't made a good impression on us, but the interiors are very cosy and the breakfast fairly varied; the cost is 25 euros per person per night. For dinner there aren't many places (in Arquata del Tronto there isn't even a restaurant! In Trisungo there's a pizzeria), but we managed anyway.
Finding a place to buy a sandwich on Sunday morning, on the other hand, was complicated! In the end we pushed on as far as Castelluccio di Norcia. It's a much more touristy but also more welcoming village; we bought cold cuts, cheeses and lentils to take home. It's already 11.30 when we set off along the path that starts at Forca di Presta and reaches the summit of Monte Vettore. A very strong wind is blowing and you can see snow on the mountains!! We weren't at all prepared for these temperatures, so, dressed as much as possible, we got very cold and after about an hour of walking we decided to turn back. Even though we only did a short stretch, the views were really very beautiful. Without rushing we set off back home...
