I made this trip to take advantage of the first spring days. In reality the weather was a bit nasty and above all very windy. Orvieto is set in a picturesque position: on a tufa cliff surrounded by gentle cultivated hills. I recommend visiting: the cathedral (obviously), Orvieto Underground (the visit runs at fixed times: 11, 12.15, 16, 17.15 and lasts about an hour), St Patrick's Well and the Moro tower for a lovely view from above. In the Albornoz fortress there is now a very well-kept public garden, suitable for a picnic. I also visited the museum of the Cathedral works and the Archaeological museum but only a few finds struck me. I didn't have time instead for the Etruscan Necropolis and the C.Faina museum; this little town really has many attractions that deserve a visit!
