The Water Park of Venice

Between Venice, the islands of the Lido and Pellestrina, Chioggia and the Riviera del Brenta lies the South Lagoon, the Parco d'Acqua di Venezia. A few steps from home, landscapes of ancient beauty, fishing valleys, old hunting casoni. The ATN Laguna Sud tourist agency organises itineraries aboard typical Venetian motorboats suited to navigation in shallow waters. We chose the full-day itinerary, sailing around the most important fishing valleys and nature areas, passing the evocative Lago dei Settemorti (between legends and truths told by the guide), the protected oasis of Ca' Roman and the island of Pellestrina with its colourful houses. A stop at the Casone di Valle Zappa (private property but open to visitors) and lunch in a restaurant in Pellestrina; on the way back, a visit to a fishing valley. For information
