A day in the mountains; it was even too cool. We went up toward the Lavarone highland; having left the car at Fort Cherle we set off on foot, at times through the woods too. Following the path toward Passo Coe, we instead arrived at the Pioverna dairy farm, used as a private club. We went in and a smell of steaming polenta, stew and canederli filled the air. Although it was a private lunch they seated us and offered us what there was, polenta and stew, exactly, with some excellent wine. The price? A free donation to be given to charity. Truly an extraordinary thing! In the afternoon we went down to Costa di Folgaria where we discovered, with much amazement, that the slopes where we ski in winter are golf courses in summer!
