The story

(Distance from home 381 km). Another stop on our Tuscan summer: destination Lucca and Collodi. Both lovely places, with a pleasant memory above all of the bike ride along Lucca's walls. Also spectacular is the Guinigi tower, on whose summit sits a centuries-old tree that makes it unique; the clock tower, where on the way up you can see the workings of the clock that gives the tower its name; and the amphitheatre square, very distinctive for its closed amphitheatre shape. Collodi is a place to visit especially if you're with children: they can relive the Pinocchio tale recreated in a park with statues and settings typical of the story. Also, opposite the Pinocchio park, the historic Garzoni garden is certainly worth a visit. Have a good trip.
