The story
Peschiera del Garda overlooks Lake Garda at the point where the lake's outflow, the Mincio, emerges. The construction of the walled town of Peschiera, surrounded by water, changed the natural course of the river. To allow for the town's defence, three outlets from the lake were built, converging south of the built-up area. The pedestrian area is very quiet, full of ice-cream parlours. From the harbour, boats leave for all the towns of Lake Garda. Here are a few photos taken from above the walls.
