The story

A bike route from Copparo to Ferrara. Worth seeing is the church of San Venanzio, a Romanesque parish church with an arched portal, a bell tower with double-arched windows and 14th-century frescoes inside (under restoration). You then continue to Ruina, where you climb onto the embankment of the Po, following a stretch of the Destra Po cycle route, currently the longest cycle path in Italy (123.81 km). You come down at Francolino and, again along a cycle path, ride beside the immense Parco Urbano of Ferrara. Excellent panoramic views and a very peaceful route, ideal for this season, though definitely too hot in summer. Details at
