The story

A bike trip in the Collalto area, a hilly zone north of Susegana, brushed by the Piave and Soligo rivers, on quiet roads with some unpaved stretches but very picturesque views. The area takes its name from the Collalto family, who in the Middle Ages had carved out their fiefdom here, building the castles of San Salvatore (open to visitors) and Collalto. Nearby, in Refrontolo, visit the Molinetto della Croda, an example of rural architecture resting on bare rock (precisely the 'croda' of the mountain). The old mill operated until 1953; later restored, its millstone was rebuilt and now works perfectly.
