As every weekend, I manage to put together a small group ready to head off goodness knows where! This time we set course for Giglio Island, another pearl of the Tuscan Archipelago. A stone's throw from the coast yet so utterly different from the mainland facing it! It's wonderful to explore even if time is objectively short... My advice for anyone with little time is to follow the island's only road. Start from Giglio Porto and reach Giglio Campese on the other side using the bus service. Enjoy the food and the fresh breeze coming off the sea, then catch the bus again and reach Giglio Castello, right in the centre of the island. Wandering through this little village with its narrow alleys is a way to shelter from the beating sun. A gelato at the port while waiting for the ferry that takes us home is the fitting crowning touch to a different and relaxing day.
