The story

Starting from Casacorba di Vedelago (TV) you can reach Portegrandi di Quarto d'Altino (VE) along the Sile, the longest spring-fed river in Italy (70 km). Around a hundred kilometres of paths wind through the park, which can be walked or cycled. We cycled the stretch from Casacorba to Treviso. In the spring area the paths are not very well marked and break off abruptly; we picked up the cycle path again after Badoere, where the route follows the disused "Treviso-Ostiglia" military railway, now converted into a cycleway as far as Quinto di Treviso (4 km). Here you catch lovely views of the lakes of Quinto (Lower and Upper), with their old mills. Many stretches are still to be completed and the signs for reaching the nature reserves are often incomplete. Let's hope the "culture" of cycle paths takes hold and that the stretches still on the drawing board can be finished.
