Gathering in Vicenza 2002

Motorhome gathering held by the Camper Club "Andrea Palladio" of Vicenza, the tireless work of president Pellizzari. Meeting at the car park of Chiampo with a visit to the Sanctuary and the Via Crucis with statues representing the various stations, a grotto of Lourdes, a copy of the original. In the evening the participants are divided into groups and each group will park in a village of the Val di Chiampo; we were assigned to Altissimo, a small village clinging to the mountain, where the mayor welcomed us by offering refreshments, much appreciated by the participants. Second day: visit to Arzignano and its town hall, where the mayor, himself a motorhomer, welcomed us and then entrusted us to a guide who showed us the architectural beauties of the place.

Visit to Montecchio Maggiore where a guide showed us the Castello della Bella Guardia On Saturday evening, in a car park facing a 17th-century villa, there was a costume performance with ladies, knights and musicians. On Sunday morning, transfer to the square of Monte Berico with its beautiful Basilica, then the city of Vicenza with its monuments, its loggias and the works of Palladio. Closing with a big lunch in Barbarano, under a large marquee set up for the occasion; amid dancing and prize-giving the gathering came to an end with a see-you-next-time.
