For the trip to the USA, after two meetings in Bologna at the headquarters of Camper Club Italia, all the participants in the trip met up in Bergamo; the one who organised the gathering was a club member: Lucio and his wife Gabriella. With his contacts, he managed to reserve us a car park for the campers and, at a modest cost, the rental of a bus that took us to Bergamo Alta. On the first day, on foot, we visited Bergamo Bassa and in the evening we dined in a nice little restaurant, characteristic and with excellent dishes, also recommended by Lucio. On the second day, a bus visit to Bergamo Alta, with an exceptional guide, Lucio's wife: Gabriella. For dinner, we moved to Villa d'Almè at the restaurant "Cascina del Ronco" (via del Ronco Basso 13 – 035 637087) where we ate everything and more and spent the right amount.
On that occasion Pierluigi, the person who would guide us throughout the trip in the USA, gives us the last briefings. Some people ask for information and clarifications; unfortunately the person concerned doesn't answer adequately and responsibly, discussions arise, later smoothed over by his wife, more diplomatic. All excited about this new adventure, we each withdraw into our own camper, parked next to the restaurant. We will all meet again in Frankfurt for the flight to New York, where the journey that will take us from the Atlantic to the Pacific begins.
