Valtellina: from Tirano to St. Moritz via the Bernina

Day trip from Milan by car

We set off in the morning from Milan for a tour of the Valtellina. The snow-covered mountains and the clean road meant we carried on to the Bernina Pass, which crosses into Switzerland as far as St. Moritz, giving us fairytale scenery.

Tips: 1. carry snow chains 2. bring coins for the French car parks. At the time Lire and Francs were in use and we couldn't park because everything was paid and coin-operated. We couldn't get change and decided to stop only very briefly in the town.
