The Island of Rhodes. Locality Lindos.
Arriving in Rhodes you get a feeling of freedom and nature explodes in every shade of blue; a week is too little to see all the beaches and coves of the island, but I think I'll be back soon to visit what I didn't see on this holiday. Lindos looks out over two small bays; the very romantic little harbour frames a town that's all white with light-blue shutters. Blue, in fact, and white are the colours you'll see on arrival, along with the dry, arid land full of olive trees and rock.. Little white houses like a nativity scene look out over the sea, and above them the Acropolis dominates everything. Shops and small workshops, typical bars and restaurants, elderly women embroidering tablecloths by hand along the path leading up to the Acropolis, little sellers of seashells on the street: this is how Lindos presents itself. It boasts the Blue Flag, a beautiful sea of rocks, sand, pebbles.
Island of Rhodes, South of the Island, Locality Prasonisi
Prasonisi, a place where the Aegean Sea marries the Ionian Sea, a true spectacle of nature where the strong and impetuous wind makes this place a surfers' paradise. Colours, sport, nature, fun and wind. A place I'll hardly forget stays in the heart. Crystal-clear and very clean sea.
Ps: if you happen to pass through Prasonisi, say hello to the waiter at the Oasis Restaurant; we'd missed the bus and he found us a lift from two English people... luckily, because the next bus was the following day. Thank him from me..
