Munich, Bavaria and Surroundings 1992

First trip to German soil. On the way to Munich we stop at Bad Tölz, a spa town. Once in Munich we notice the perfect organisation — parking even in the centre isn't difficult — and admire the Neues Rathaus, the Frauenkirche and the Residenz. We visit the botanical garden and the park of Nymphenburg Palace. To the south is the magic of King Ludwig's castles, Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, a building in sunny yellow on the shores of a clear lake. We're with the children, so a visit to the zoo can't be missed. On the way back, Linderhof Palace, set in the woods, a wonderful scene with huge fountains — a shame the weather wasn't always sunny.
