The story

In the heart of old Prussia, the pulse of this extraordinary, utterly unstable city beats strongly. Four days in Berlin, Germany's new capital, immersed in its dazzling futuristic architecture, surprised by the kindness and gentleness of the gruff Germans, shaken by the ugliness of a violent and brutal History but fascinated by the far-from-obvious irreverence, by the freshness and beauty of this completely "freak out" city!!! Risen again, here it is once more, beautiful as always; Berlin always surprises and always pleases: it isn't expensive as people think, it isn't at all cold as people think, indeed it's pleasantly cheap for eating, and it suits the after-hours freaks, the lovers of culture, the hardened museologists, the history buffs who love it as it is, the foodies and the nostalgics of goodness knows what...

The majestic Reichstag, the beautiful Prenzlauer Berg district, the magic of the Berliner Dom, the ghost of a vanished wall, the East's Ampelmann greeting the West's traffic lights, the Brandenburger Tor, majestic and deadly with its quadriga, the Siegessäule of remote Prussianness, a Michael Bublé concert, good wine, heavy food, a lovely atmosphere on the banks of the Spree.. I could go on forever... he he he Once divided by a wall, today a symbol of a different past, proud of everything it has and no longer has to offer, one single regret.. if that terrible and suffocating past hadn't existed, dark and black as a plague of the 20th century, would this city not be as beautiful as, or perhaps more than, Rome, Paris or London???... the hard verdict is yours... Have a good trip in splendid Germany. Andrea
