The story

When the great Neva river freezes completely, the great god of St. Petersburg envelops the city, loves it to death; the cold winter has saved it and killed it many times over the course of history. But without grandiosity, tragedies, riches, gold and loves, or the long flow of the icy waters, no city like St. Petersburg would exist. And here we are, there is no other city like it at those latitudes; old Leningrad is sublime beauty in its highest expression, something that enthrals and sweeps you along, that reaches fulfilment through our eyes and yours. Mother Russia calls, the great queen of the North never stops answering.
