The Christmas markets in Colmar are among the most visited in the world… could we miss them?? We look for a pretty little apartment that doesn't cost much on the site we now use as a matter of course to organise our holidays ( And so, aboard our Chrysler, we set off for France From 22 November to 31 December the French town fills up with stalls made like chalets. They're open every day and the spectacle they offer in the evening when they light up is surely equal to the enchantment a sunset in the Maldives can give you; I spent my time photographing and filming the thousand coloured lights and the wonderful Christmas decorations. In total there are five markets spread through Colmar, each with its own character: some offer a variety of objects of every kind, all strictly hand-made, others antiques, others local food products.
The one we liked most was the one dedicated to the little ones: full of sweets of every kind, shape and flavour and, of course, toys. I recommend a visit to Colmar to everyone; I plan to go back next year too, since another little niece has been born to me… and what better occasion to buy her a Christmas present? I've published a few of the many photos I took, which are beautiful but certainly don't do enough justice to the unforgettable atmosphere of such an enchanting place
