Belgium tour entirely organised from home via the internet. Ryanair flight from Treviso to Charleroi € 48.00 return for 2 people. Car rental through the site enoleggioauto.it, for a brand-new diesel Corsa we spent € 213.00. In Belgium absolutely not to be missed is Bruges, surely the most beautiful city we visited, a must is the climb up the Belfry, to admire the main square from above, then the boat trip along the canals, and churches, palaces, alleys, to be enjoyed for a whole day. Nearby Ghent, with a large pedestrian area and the Gravensteen castle, a boat trip here too. If you want to head for the sea, Ostend, and then De Haan, a village with very colourful houses and a wonderful seafront, a beach indescribable for how clean it is.
Along the Scheldt river, a stop in Antwerp; also obligatory is seeing the central area of Brussels, with the famous Manneken Pis, and the buildings of the Grand-Place. Heading back south, Dinant, along the river, nearby the gardens of Annevoie, and then Namur. We did not spend much on food either, you just have to wisely avoid the more central restaurants, the beer is excellent. For the hotels we booked on Booking.com Ghent: hotel Adoma € 68.00 + breakfast, 30' on foot from the centre (also reachable by tram) Bruges: at the Etap Hotel Brugge Centrum Station € 44.00 + breakfast, near the railway station and with adjacent parking (€ 2.50 per day) practically next to the pedestrian area Arbre, Dinant area: Aux Anges Bed & Breakfast € 60.00 + breakfast, a beautiful place, lost in the Belgian countryside. Belgium is “the country you don't expect”, small but with well-preserved art treasures.
