A few days in Austria, unfortunately with a few drops of rain. We took a long walk at Trins, towards the solitary waterfall and towards the Gschnitz valley. Not to be missed at Kramsach is the Open-Air Museum (there are many in Austria but each has a different charm). In Innsbruck the Tyrolean Museum is lovely to see, where you lose yourself admiring the majolica stoves. Going up towards the Alpenzoo by funicular you reach the plateau of the Nordkette (we still remember the feast of wild strawberries). Do the round trip on Lake Achensee, perhaps renting an electric boat, and then go up again by cable car to the Karwendel. Nearby is Ambras Castle, the jewel of Innsbruck, so different from the castles of Bavaria. What else can I say? Don't miss the excellent strudel, the pepper steak, the jams and every other Austrian delicacy.
