Wörthersee

On the way home we stop at Lake Wörthersee, the largest lake in Carinthia. Having already visited Klagenfurt years ago, we opt to stop in the Maria Wörth area. Night in Reifnitz, a few kilometres from Maria Wörth, at the pension Isabel, 100 € per night with breakfast, a bit expensive, but the area is considered very touristy. In the area, not to be missed is the Pyramidenkogel, a 54-metre panoramic platform from which you enjoy a beautiful view over the Wörthersee and all the surrounding mountains. Next stop Velden, a place described as elegant and fashionable on the Wörthersee, indeed the hotel prices are truly "fashionable", we think the economic crisis is making itself felt, the deckchairs by the lake are all empty, and if they are on Ferragosto.....We stroll along the lakefront, scenic views and fine buildings.
