The story

New Year in the warm? A sailing New Year's Eve cruise, from 27 December to 5 January, a brand-new itinerary among the islands of the Lesser Antilles, 13-metre catamarans with the single-berth formula or the Cabin Charter, to meet other people, share and celebrate New Year in the sun. Lush and bursting with colour, our island of departure is Guadeloupe, the green butterfly of the Caribbean, and then sailing north towards the islands of Antigua and Barbuda. Cruise organised and offered by us; ask for information to celebrate New Year's Eve or Epiphany amid the rhythms and colours of the Caribbean by catamaran. - info@catamaranocaraibi.com. Antigua is known as the island of 365 beaches, one for every day of the year. Among the most beautiful are Fryes Beach, Darkwood Beach, a wide stretch of fine white sand lapped by blue sea, Johnsons Point, Half Moon Bay, considered the most beautiful in Antigua, and Long Bay, a quiet bay sheltered by the reef.

The small Barbuda (only 160 km2) is a paradise of peace and tranquillity. The western coast is a succession of fabulous white beaches, among which the most famous one, the stretch that runs from Palmetto Point to Cedar Tree Point, turns shades of pink at first light, an optical effect of tiny shells brought by the sea. The beach of Gravenor Bay is enchanting too, drawing many snorkelling enthusiasts.

27/12 Guadeloupe – Pointe à Pitre

Meeting of participants at the international airport of Rome or Milan for boarding procedures on the scheduled flight to the Caribbean. Arrival at the international airport of Pointe à Pitre, baggage collection and transfer to the Marina at Pointe à Pitre. Accommodation on the catamaran, provisioning and briefing with the skipper. In the evening we sleep on the catamaran in the Marina at Pointe à Pitre. 28/12 Pointe à Pitre – western side of Guadeloupe Breakfast and ready to set sail for a first day of sailing, relaxation and swimming, working up the western side towards Guadeloupe's west. Indeed we will visit Baie de Pont-Pierre for a swimming stop and then set off for Anse Crawen, another swimming stop, then Grande Anse and finally arrive at Petite Anse, where we will spend the night at anchor beneath the Caribbean stars.

29/12 Petit Anse – Antigua After breakfast and a swim, we set sail...bow towards Antigua, destination Carlisle Bay for a swimming stop and then on to Jolly Harbour, which is one of the most comfortable marinas, with a bay that also allows anchoring. Relax and a wander around the marina's bars for a little stroll ashore. Antigua is considered the jewel of the Lesser Antilles, named by Columbus in honour of Santa Maria la Antigua, the Virgin he venerated in Seville. The island still retains a traditional character, especially in some districts of Saint John's outside the tourist resorts.

30/12 Antigua – Barbuda

After breakfast we set sail for Barbuda, the second island in size and importance after Antigua in the small Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda, but not for that reason any less beautiful — quite the contrary! A stop at Deep Bay, then on to Cocoa Bay, where we spend the night.

31/12 – New Year 2015 in Barbuda

After breakfast we set off for Palmetto Point, where we stop for a swim, then head to Low Bay, where we spend the night.

01/01 Barbuda – Antigua

We set off for Antigua, heading for Judge Bay, where we swim, and continue to Tenpoud Bay, where we spend the night. Antigua is considered the jewel of the Lesser Antilles, named by Columbus in honour of Santa Maria la Antigua, the Virgin he venerated in Seville.

02/01 – Antigua – Guadeloupe

After waking up we set off for Half Moon Bay for a swimming stop and then set course for Pigeon Island (Guadeloupe), where we spend the night.

03/01 – Guadeloupe

we set off for Baie de Saint-Louis, where we spend the last night, passing through all the bays along the way

04/01 – Guadeloupe

we set off sailing and arrive at Pointe à Pitre in the late afternoon

05/01 – Pointe à Pitre

Breakfast and disembarkation.
