23. 02. 2010 Puerto Montt (CHILE)

The climb of the Osorno volcano, comfortably seated on a chairlift, going up, ever higher, beyond the clouds, indeed penetrating their innermost reaches until we leave them beneath us... Then silence, a peace broken only by some remark exchanged among us... The sun that recharged and burned us... my toxins, my nightmares and the "crap" I had in my head began to abandon me... I needed it, the higher I climbed the better I felt... In the evening I wanted to break the mould a bit, I who am used to keeping everything under control, always vigilant and present, let myself go a little... With Roscio and Linsey, a Scot met at the hostel, tasting the local drink "pisco" (35 degrees)... after three glasses I felt the floor trembling under my feet, my head was spinning and I don't remember many of the things that happened...

and when this morning I woke up in jeans and t-shirt, with all my things thrown in a jumble into my backpack, and the typical hangover head, it almost pleased me... 24. 02. 2010 Castro (CHILE)

A ferry took us to the island of Chiloe...

[Luca]: "In the central square of Castro.

Strolling about we literally burned our faces to see the wonders of the Osorno volcano, but it was worth it. It wasn't a physical climb but a mental one. You literally ascend towards the sky. There is a series of dominant colours: the blue of the sky and the sea, the white of the summit and the sepia black of the volcano.

There was a deafening silence, we were the only human beings breathing for hundreds of metres... I fear that to capture these emotions it will take writing a song or rather an entire album...

The road carries you with it, embraces you and forces you to look ahead, making distant what a minute later becomes tiny.

But the journey has this enormous cathartic function of healing you, of listening to you... "
