The dream island

On the road that leads from Angra dos Reis to Paraty, an old colonial town, you come across the wonderful island of 'DO PELADO'.

Reaching the island is very easy since some boats carry tourists to its beaches.

The cost is truly paltry: 4 reais per person return (about 1.5 euros).

Once on the island you realise its extraordinary beauty.

There are some kiosks, very modest but fairly well equipped, where you can eat or have a drink and sunbathe on deckchairs.

It's very common to see dolphins passing right by the island, and when the season is right, some sea turtles come right here to lay their eggs.
