Ilha Grande

Once you arrive at Angra Dos Reis, you should dedicate at least a day and a night to Ilha Grande.

Boarding is done by various companies and the round-trip ticket costs about 10 euros. The crossing to reach the island lasts an hour and a half. Here too there are various pousadas you can find, whose price always ranges from 100 to 200 reals (35-70 euros) for a double room, breakfast included.

There are no cars on the island. Even the porters, who come in numbers to the landing pier, are equipped with carts. The only car that exists is the police one. Nor are there any roads inside the island, but guided walks are organised to discover its most hidden corners.
