A tango in Buenos Aires

Many people have told me about and described the beauty of Buenos Aires, so this time I decide to go there to spend about ten full days...in order to have the time to thoroughly savour the atmosphere of the city. Departure from beautiful Provence with an Air France flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival, first negative surprise, I go out to take a taxi and immediately I am cheated...the taxi driver doesn't turn on the meter and when I point it out he says there is a fixed fare...obviously that's not true and he cheats me....but I don't feel like getting annoyed right away...so I take it philosophically and focus on discovering the city from the window...MAGNIFICENT!!

Hotel Axel, a nice 4* in the heart of San Telmo, the tango district of BA; magnificent design hotel and "hetero-friendly"...so no children and a staff ready to give all the advice on the gay nightlife of the city, truly TOP.

The city is magnificent, imposing in its architecture with great boulevards that remind you a bit of Paris and very modern districts like Puerto Madero that make you understand how the city keeps pace with progress...skyscrapers on the edge of the river and trendy venues and fashionable restaurants.

I didn't find that living is particularly cheap...a bit less expensive than in Europe but certainly not at bargain prices.

The Palermo district is simply wonderful, it reminds you a bit of Beverly Hills...low little houses with trendy shops and fashion bars...only beautiful people around...on the other hand there the prices are absolutely in line with Europe.

In short, I spent about ten days there and I liked it a lot.....for advice on venues and nightlife write to me and I will answer you.
