We leave Flagstaff very early in the morning, we can't wait to leave that dirty, smelly Motel room.... We drove a huge number of km, we finally drove the famous route 66 and without stopping too many times, by late evening we were already in LOS ANGELES... We found a very nice and clean hotel, the Comfort Inn near HOLLYWOOD, where we stayed for 3 nights... Instead I recommend staying in Santa Monica, which is truly beautiful.... The next day we devote to visiting UNIVERSAL STUDIOS.... another world... or rather the world of films, actors, television... we saw the set of Desperate Housewives, King Kong, Jaws and many other attractions.... a great experience... even in the time machine.... Outside the Studios there are lots of shops for shopping and we took advantage of them...
The next day we went to visit BEVERLY HILLS, and we washed our hands in the hotel from PRETTY WOMAN, and lived the VIP life... incredibly beautiful... the villas are stupendous but of famous actors not a trace... We then went to Santa Monica.... really beautiful... the beach.... the strange types around... all wonderful.... On the second-to-last day we went to ORANGE COUNTY and did the BAYWATCH thing... great fun... you feel like you're living inside a film... and then we visit the KODAK THEATRE from outside, from where we admire the famous HOLLYWOOD sign and photograph the famous handprints.... last stop VENICE where we admire a stupendous sunset... On the last day we move to the mega hotel booked from home, the OMNI HOTEL, and visit the town of LOS ANGELES... we are a bit disappointed... perhaps because we're tired or because of the bitter taste that the holiday is over...
This city, though, I didn't like that much: there's too much distinction between rich and poor... it's full of homeless people living on the street, especially in Hollywood and along Melrose Avenue.... They don't give a good image of the city...
