Rivalta Castle is in the province of Piacenza and is a precious jewel of the Val Trebbia, one of the most beautiful scenic areas of Emilia Romagna. The history of the Castle, the landscape that surrounds it, the illustrious guests are just some of the aspects that make it special. The Castle, currently owned by the family of the Counts Zanardi Landi, is one of the most important and interesting in western Emilia. At the foot of the Castle lies the ancient walled village of Rivalta, excellently preserved. A narrow lane of the village leads to the façade of the Church of San Martino. A few steps from it is a gate, beyond which a large wooded park opens up. Behind the thick vegetation, the Castle appears. It was a beautiful day... first we ate at a farmhouse in the area called LE RONDINI, then we reached the castle, which you can see even from a distance, to take part in the egg hunt...
an event organised by the castle to make it known to children too, who were clearly delighted... Seeing the castle tower in the flesh was a wonderful thrill... since I'd always seen it on the internet...
