The story

Our trip to the States is at its end: as our last day we visit PHILADELPHIA, or rather PHILLY as the Americans call it. We leave the car in a car park and head for CENTER CITY and go straight up the tower of CITY HALL (the town hall) to admire the city from above. On the tip of this building is the statue of William Penn, the Quaker founder of the city. The view is beautiful; we also see the PHILADELPHIA MUSEUM OF ART, famous for the steps used by Silvester Stallone in the film Rocky. We then go to the most historic part of the city: INDEPENDENCE HALL (where the Declaration of Independence and the American Constitution were signed), the LIBERTY BELL and CONGRESS HALL. We return to MARKET STREET and wander the streets of PHILADELPHIA, also reaching LOVE PARK. It's time to go back to New York; tomorrow we head home.

We take the wrong motorway and after an hour of driving we realise we are still in Philadelphia. Driving in the States is particularly difficult and you must never lose concentration... and to think we believed we had finally learned.... It was our first do-it-yourself holiday; we always found motels for the night, we discovered beautiful places and we will surely never forget it....
