The story

What a beautiful city!! One of the few American cities to also have beautiful monuments... all concentrated on the banks of the Potomac... which runs from the Parliament to the central obelisk... truly panoramic, the whole thing. Moving and touching at the same time is the Vietnam Veterans Memorial... a long slab of black marble engraved with the names of those who died in the war... and a whole stream of people looking with a finger for the name of their deceased relative... The White House, on the other hand, was a disappointment!! A low little house surrounded by an English garden... nothing special! On the other hand, the city as a whole absolutely deserves a stop... even a simple stopover of one or two days will already give you a way to get an idea of Washington. Good trip to everyone! Max
