5 days in Dubai

I'm taking advantage of the fact that I'm on my way back from Hong Kong with an Emirates flight to Nice to treat myself to a (free) stopover in Dubai for 5 nights.....it's the beginning of September.....MONSTROUS HEAT!!!!!!....and it's not just the heat that stops you from doing anything outside the hotel (fantastic!!!!!....the CARLTON RITZ 5*LUXURY hotel) and the AIR-CONDITIONED pool!!!....it's above all the incredible humidity that takes away any desire to do anything other than stay by the pool and make the most of the hotel.....

An obligatory evening visit to the gold souk...nothing special.....and photos of the various skyscrapers sprouting up like mushrooms everywhere.....in short, wrong season and a place that's only worth a stopover during a longer journey...but nothing exceptional
