OK...for me Paris is always Paris...but a London this appealing I really wasn't expecting. A beautiful, lively city with a climate that's exactly mine: changeable just enough (as befits a city that's part of an island) but on the cool side without being cold! Several times I promised myself I'd go back, but the desire to discover new corners of the world makes me postpone the plan every year. A hotel in Kensington and, every day, hours and hours of walking from one side of the city to the other, also taking advantage of a super-extensive underground network. Eating is expensive...and eating is a manner of speaking, given the English's horrible tastes.
The meat and the hot dogs are good: the ones eaten in Hyde Park were fabulous!!!!! Apart from the ultra-famous spots, pay a visit to the Docks: a former port area, the large Docks district is increasingly at the centre of a vast redevelopment project; it's located just a few hundred metres from the City; you can easily get there by train, by boat, or on foot walking along the long Thames. Allow enough time to visit the Tower of London and Tower Bridge: spectacular! Finally, a little outing outside the city: there really are so many alternatives. We chose Canterbury and its splendid Gothic cathedral. Only an hour and thirty by train through the beautiful English countryside.
