The story

With two friends we decided to head to the mountains a bit to escape the crowds of our beaches. The first days were good, but then the weather turned merciless. We stayed at the Hotel de La Truite in Le Pont (near Vallorbe in French-speaking Switzerland). First day a six-hour walk around the lake and a visit to the clock museum in Le Sentier. Second day all along the ridge at 1500/1600 up to Mont Tendre, from which we looked out over Lake Geneva and our Alps (majestic Mont Blanc was close by, since visibility was excellent). Then the weather started playing up and so the walks were shorter: Mont d'Or in nearby France, Vallorbe and its caves etc... A region that deserves a visit!
