Here we are back from a new trip, this time dedicated to culture and precisely Barcelona. We had never been there and it was spectacular from every point of view. We did everything on our own, helped by the Internet, flight, hotel, visits to the sites, restaurants. Flight on time with Alitalia, very convenient the train, at terminal 2 of El Prat, it takes you right to the centre, for us the Clot stop very close to our hotel. Hotel Catalonia Albeniz for anyone interested, convenient to the metro, the train, and the Sagrada Familia. A very beautiful and clean city (we have a lot to learn) the street cleaners, the ones with the broom, work even on Sunday all day. The visit to the city focuses on the things Gaudí built and he built a lot. You are left open-mouthed seeing the Sagrada Familia, by the grandeur of the towers and of the whole construction, a shame it is in perpetual construction.
Casa Batlló, just thinking of building it like that is astonishing. We toured for two days with the Barcelona Bus Turístic (29 euros each) you can get on and off when and where you want, very convenient because they take you near the sites to visit, then you decide whether to stop or not. In the Barri Gòtic area there is everything you might want to visit. As for eating, we went to an unpretentious trattoria but where you ate sublimely spending little, it is called Can Mano and it is at carrer Baluard 12 in the port area where along the seafront there are countless restaurants, this one instead is hidden among the little alleys, once found you never forget it.
All beautiful until the day of the return, Monday 19 flight cancelled due to the Icelandic volcano cloud, on the 20th until 6 in the evening we didn't know whether we would fly then at 20 take-off and this time too it went, see you next time, hello and safe travels to those who leave.
