Formentera can't be imagined by looking at a few photos... it has to be lived and savoured. Only then do you realise you are halfway between the most beautiful Sardinia and the Maldives: and so it feels like living in a dream. We chose the classic package (Veratour) mainly for the exceptional value: an Air One flight and half board at the Hostal Belvedere in La Salina (by the port) — a spot-on choice, both for the food (good fish every day + a giant paella) and for the location (you are 2 steps from the best beaches), all for 490 eu per person. Considering the absurd prices on the island, I'd say it was a luxury. Absolutely don't miss either the tip of the island that leads to the isthmus with Espalmador, or the lunar, surreal landscape that dominates Cap de Barbaria and Punta La Pedrera: nature and nothing but nature, among the most dignified and beautiful on the planet.
For the rest, the island is 17 km long, so it can be explored entirely without difficulty. I almost forgot: the price also included a free scooter rental for our exploring.
