This is the story of two half-crazy sisters who leave their boyfriends at home and go off partly to have some fun on the island of the most unbridled nightlife, and partly to relax on the nearby, unspoilt Formentera... The departure is on 26 August... we sweated for this holiday... we both work in shops and this month, with the sales, people go out of their minds, partly the heat, partly because they can't find anything, and of course who pays the price? Us poor shop assistants!!! Anyway, apart from that... we arrive at Ibiza airport in the early afternoon... right outside, the coach of our tour operator is waiting for us and, to our great delight, we discover that our tour leader is a good-looking guy who looks like someone...!
Day 126 Aug 2007
WE'VE ARRIVED!
I was saying....our handsome young man immediately puts on some very relaxing music....not bad electronic house, and he drives us to our hotel, introducing us to the frantic life of this island with phrases like....."Ibiza never sleeps..." or "there's no time zone here...people become fused..." and things like that....!We get off at the Mare Nostrum, our hotel, and we're very happy with it...a huge, very well-kept complex where mostly young people were staying, but which was also fine for families...in fact there were a few! Anyway the room was ok, nice and big and clean, and after unpacking our suitcases we decide to spend our afternoon at the pool....so relaxation.....we then decided to take a stroll around Playa d'en Bossa to see what it was like and to see what state that beautiful big beach seen in the brochures had been reduced to.....as you know, in Ibiza at the beginning of July a
n oil tanker sank, creating an indescribable mess for the beaches of this little town...in fact they weren't usable, they had drastically shrunk in size, and on top of that they were all black, covered in algae and with a very heavy smell...a mix of rotten algae and oil.....that's why we always moved around for our beach days and didn't use this beach which was after all only 200 meters from our hotel! What a shame! In the evening we have dinner at the hotel....there's a huge buffet with everything and more, and then we wander around a bit.....our assistant Alessandro arrives and tells us there's a night at Amnesia that we can't miss...the foam party.....and we go!!! We meet at one in the morning in front of the other hotel of our tour operator...they had organized a bus to take all of us from the two hotels to the club! There we met two girls who we later discover are from our area, that
is, a town in Tuscany 5 km from where we live!Talk about coincidence! We spend the whole evening with them in this beautiful and huge club even though we got our clothing wrong....my sister and I dressed nicely, as is customary for going dancing...and instead we discovered that for that evening you have to dress as if you were going to the beach, swimsuit and shorts because they spray foam at you and you get completely soaked, as if you had taken a dip! They also told us that we should bring a backpack with a change of clothes because otherwise on the way out, all wet, we would have caught a terrible pneumonia! To avoid ruining our vacation right on the first evening, we collectively decided to leave before they started spraying the foam, and around 6 we went back to the hotel.
PS Note that basically the party started at 7 in the morning...the time when they started shooting the ESPUMA!!!! Price of the evening 25€...and for us from the tour operator it included a discount, otherwise 40€!...and consider that drinks are not included and if you get something it's 15€ for non-alcoholic and 20€ for alcoholic.....you also have to pay for the cloakroom and you even have to pay if for some reason you want to briefly take back your bag!Incredible! Now off to bed!!!

Day 227 Aug 2007
ON THE BEACH!
We get up very early...practically at dawn...that is, 11 in the morning....to go to the tour operator's meeting where they explain everything about how life works on the island, what's worth doing and what's not worth doing, and the excursions offered.....there we meet two girls from Milan and from then on we were never separated again...always the four of us out and about! We immediately go buy food for lunch and then off to the beach....we take a taxi and go to a beach called Les Salinas....it's called that precisely because of the salt they produce nearby...it's also the beach we saw yesterday when we landed by plane...basically we almost landed on top of it!We happily discover that renting an umbrella costs much less than in Italy!...We spend the whole afternoon in the sun on this beautiful long white beach and take relaxing dips in these waters that are truly clean and crystal clear.
...we leave in the late afternoon with buses that come specially and are usually packed...to get a seat you have to fight and everyone looks like refugees...they're so full...!!! Dinner is at the hotel and after dinner we hear from our Tuscan friends and decide to go dancing all six of us at Privilege...which they said was the night of this club.......at one o'clock the usual meeting in front of the hotel...there were really so many of us and we went....there was the Cirque du Soleil show...they say unmissable! The club was huge, it seems to be the largest in Europe.....good music...but unfortunately the show by these Cirque du Soleil people ruined our evening.....their show didn't make it clear whether it was a performance or something that actually happened inside the club.....at a certain point 5 or 6 people dressed in orange jumpsuits (like hospital volunteers) started chasing people a
ll over the venue and then pushing them to the ground and beating them, tearing off their clothes and leaving them naked....once stripped, they took them onto the cubes and left them there in view of all of us....these people were crying and desperate and we weren't given time to understand whether it was part of the show or whether it was really happening......so we started running away and the whole club was frightened, people didn't know what to do anymore.....the next day they told us it was all a show to convey the transgression that reigns on the island of Ibiza.....but they ruined our evening and we didn't enjoy it at all.....

Day 328 Aug 2007
ST.ANTONIO, CALA BASSA AND CAFE' DEL MAR
On this day we decided to go to the other side of the island, specifically to Sant Antonio.....once we arrived there, they advised us to take the boat and go to Cala Bassa, it's on the other side of the gulf and this way we would avoid taking more buses....and that's what we did...it was worth it...a truly beautiful beach and we enjoyed it in total relaxation! In the late afternoon we left and walked the whole promenade of St Antonio full of stalls, and then the seafront....practically a pedestrian street on the cliff where on one side there's the sea and on the other all the little bars and shops....very nice! We then arrive for the aperitif at Café del Mar and there we saw the famous sunset, with applause as the sun disappeared!Very beautiful as a spectacle! Anyway I must speak up in favor of the other little bars......Café del Mar is very famous and renowned and therefore almost a mand
atory stop if you go to Ibiza....the chill out music they play in the background is distinctive....but it's not a real aperitif, you only drink something and no snacks....if you want something to eat they don't have a kitchen, but a vending machine for bags of chips......that they could have done without! In the little bars next door, on the other hand, if you want, there's also something to eat and they make the same nice drinks....the atmosphere is nice and the sunset is exactly the same....you get what I mean, right?Dinner at the hotel and a relaxing evening....I fall asleep while walking...
playa d'en bossa
Day 429 Aug 2007
ST EULALIA
We spend this day at a beach in St Eulalia.....a little cove nearby....the water was clear and shallow for at least a hundred meters....and so we basked in the sun all afternoon....until an insane wind came up that didn't let us stay all afternoon because the umbrellas were flying away, plus sand in your eyes is really not that pleasant!!! We spent the late afternoon in Playa d'en Bossa shopping... and the evening in Ibiza center.....lots of little alleys intersecting each other full of little shops and very colorful stalls and with many references to the hippies who once populated this island.....plus a billion people around and it was almost impossible to move....we had drinks in the various little bars there in the center and then we found a pizzeria run by guys from Rome....and at 3 in the morning we had ourselves a nice pizza.....like it should be!!!

Day 530 Aug 2007
EVERYONE TO FORMENTERA
Oooooh!!!! Finally in Formentera...our ferry awaits us at 10 in the morning.....around us are the crazed faces of people who haven't slept...who haven't even gone to bed...we on the other hand didn't want to stay out late....we wanted to make the most of this day and I don't regret it.
Ibiza also has many beautiful places and beautiful beaches worth visiting....we tried to moderate our nightlife because there are nice places to visit during the day too and I didn't want to miss them! We disembark in Formentera onto a strip of very white sand in the middle of a bright, brilliant blue sea....what I expected...paradise.....we basked in the sun all day and every now and then a nice dip...partly because of the heat...and partly because the water had an irresistible pull!We set off again in the late afternoon and the sea was a bit rough...it wasn't exactly a smooth crossing....anyway....we arrive on the mainland at Playa d'en Bossa and decide to go for a spin at Bora Bora...a venue on the beach where people start dancing in the late afternoon until late evening.....with a nice Sex on the Beach we had our aperitif and then dinner at the hotel.....For our evening we opted for t
he Divino club....at the port of Ibiza. It's a much smaller venue compared to the other clubs and the price is also much more affordable...15€....it has a beautiful terrace on the sea with a view of the illuminated old town of Eivissa.....there you can even chat with people because it's not a sprawling club and the music is more commercial....even if it seems strange to you, even though we left the dancing early (like around 4...) we had trouble finding a little bar for breakfast!Everything was closed....incredible in a place with a nightlife scene like that!!!
