The story

Since in Barcelona everything is closed for the Easter holidays, for Easter Monday we think of heading to the coast, where surely there should be more life and more shops open.... we decide to go to Sitges.... on paper it's only 30 KM from Barça, a doddle by car! On Easter Monday morning we wake up late as usual (after the previous night's revelry), breakfast and off we go!!! In less than half an hour we're on the seafront of Sitges. The town is truly beautiful: it has both a historic part, perched and very well preserved, full of narrow streets and all sorts of little shops, and the modern part along the seafront, which faces lovely fine-sand beaches, and just inland roads lined with stunning villas with lush gardens and a Golf Club to boot!! In short, a luxury seaside town of the highest order! Much better than the guides made it sound; but here too the shops are mostly closed....

in short, you can't do any kind of shopping on this Easter holiday!!! On the other hand, we eat and drink like pigs!!!!!!! We spend the whole day there until evening, with the intention of coming back for a few days when summer has finally arrived and, with the season, the tourists too!!! It's time to get back in the car to return to France, to Aix en Provence; in 4 hours we'll be home!! See you soon Sitges!! Max
