Barcelona is only 500 KM from Aix, so we decide to try to spend this long Easter weekend in Spain. A wonderful trip, only 4 hours by car (at high speed) and we're on the Spanish Ramblas!!!! We know the city well already, we've been there other times but always by plane (from Milan definitely too long by car!!). Just arrived on Friday 6 April, immediately a nasty surprise.... EVERYTHING CLOSED!!!!!...Like mid-August in Milan!!!! What a disappointment!!! We go to the hotel... hotel Ronda Lesseps, 100 euros a night for the room, booked on Expedia, from outside it looks awful..... we're off to a good start on the holiday..... instead the rooms are much better than expected, all new, with a whirlpool tub too, a really pleasant surprise!!! We cheer up and throw ourselves into the centre of Barça.....
still everything closed!!! Never mind, we stop at a tapas bar and down a litre of beer each, complete with ham bocadillos, and things already look better...... it'll mean that as usual we'll do lots and lots of nightlife and not much sightseeing!! No sooner said than done: Eixample clubs until 6 in the morning, brioches and cappuccino before going to sleep and lots and lots of alcohol!!!!....Hihihi.....in Spain it always ends like this.......nightlife and mega drinking!!! Monuments and museums, not even worth mentioning.....we get up at 2 and slowly start to function again around 3, then a walk in the centre (all the shops still closed) and then off!!!! tapas bars with sangria and beer galore!!! The only cultural thing of the holiday was the Güell park, which we hadn't seen on previous visits (Gaudí's, that is).
In any case it was fun for the nightclubs.......even though we felt the blow of the excesses and are only recovering now, a week later!!! In any case Barça is always worth it, try it to believe it!!!! Bye Max

quanto mi manca Barcellona... Per la Settimana Santa vanno tutti ad aprire le case sulla costa!
la foto descritta come "simbolo fallico di Dalì" rappresenta in realtà una donna con un uccello sul cappello e soprattutto è di Mirò
