07 January 2007 we arrive in MADRID around lunchtime. Straight away we set the local time... and decide to fill the wait for the flight to Italy with a tour of Madrid. The Spanish capital is well connected thanks above all to the use of both public transport on the roads, and the Metro.
After a good coffee around the city, we decide to make a tour of one of the most prestigious stadiums in the world, the Santiago Bernabeu. The sun begins to set, the mild temperatures were certainly not those of Mexico, so we return to the airport and from there, right on time, we take off bound for Milan-Linate, where we arrive late in the evening. ******************************************* Phew! what can I say, it's all over, back to the usual monotony. Straight home, unpack the suitcase, clothes to wash, a hot shower and straight to bed because the next morning you no longer go to Isla Mujeres or Cozumel or whatever, you go back to work!!!...see? it takes little to get back to normal...on the other hand it takes a long time to forget Mexico. Wonderful places, a fantastic sea, stunning seabeds. Now it begins to be only a memory, a sweet memory.
Like all the holidays we've taken together, Selene and I return to our daily life stronger and more mature; going around, in fact, you meet and see things you would never, ever have thought you would see, or touch.
Who would ever have said 10 years ago that I would swim, dance and even kiss a dolphin?
Who would ever have said that I would manage to photograph a barracuda during a full underwater dive; and yet, thanks to Mexico, I did it.
Now we'll have photos and videos to remember these fantastic days spent on this Riviera Maya, even though, knowing Selene, from tomorrow...she'll start thinking about what our next stop around the world will be... Luca & Selene
